About
This is a war movie in every sense. The war is fought on the grass, on the football pitches of Israel’s National League. The fighters are the players and fans of Hapoel Beit She’an. A small town against the entire country. Only five matches remain before the end of the 1995 season. Hapoel Beit She’an is fighting for its life at the bottom of the table. The newspapers say they have no chance. In Beit She’an, they believe otherwise. They choose to fight. Beit She’an: A War Movie won the Ophir Award from the Israeli Academy of Film and Television as Best Documentary of 1996.
