About
Lee Elbaz, a 36-year-old Israeli, was arrested by the FBI upon arriving to the United States in 2017. Her arrest exposed a sprawling industry built on financial fraud. Elbaz, who worked at the binary options company Yukom since it was founded, quickly rose through the ranks, managed the sales floor, and was eventually appointed CEO. A U.S. jury found her guilty and sentenced her to 22 years in federal prison. The film explores questions of responsibility, morality, and justice, as Elbaz continues to claim her innocence and sees herself as a scapegoat for an entire industry, while most of its leaders evade punishment and continue to operate.
