About
In 2010, when Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz party first swept into power, they won the public’s trust with their promise of a different kind of leadership. Three elections later, Hungary has indeed transformed into something completely different. Its democracy has been dismantled beyond all recognition, and the changes imposed on its core pillars, from the press to the judiciary, are visibly affecting the Hungarian public, inciting hatred toward enemies from within (LGBTQ+ people, “the left”) and without (refugees, “Brussels”). Amidst this, a massive protest movement has been gaining momentum. The film follows Tímea, Niko, and Babett—three courageous women spearheading the struggle on different fronts. It is an eye-opening and timely portrayal of a society in crisis and the citizens standing up to defend it.
